Police Warn Of 'Large
MILLBURN, NJ — The Millburn police are asking residents to be aware of a scam going on in which a suspect uses a resident's name to apply for an American Express card, and then steals the card.
On Wednesday, Millburn Police started receiving multiple reports that residents have been receiving fraudulently opened new American Express credit accounts issued to their names, police said on Thursday.
The American Express cards were shipped overnight to their residences, police say.
"The suspect is described as a white male wearing grey shorts and loafers operating an electric scooter. He was observed taking the packages from the front porch of the residences," police say. "He was also seen operating a newer dark colored Jeep Cherokee."
Anyone with information or victims of similar frauds is asked to contact the Millburn Police Department at 973-564-7001.
