The electric two-wheeler market is set to witness the arrival of a formidable new competitor with the introduction of the Simple One electric scooter. Boasting outstanding features, Simple One aims to catch up despite some delays and take on established rivals like Ola S1 Pro, Ather 450X, Bajaj Chetak, Hero Vida, and TVS iQube ST.

A report from Rush Lane has shared some of the spy images of the Simple One while being tested on the roads of Bangalore. The EV looks sporty and attractive on the road, it seems that Simple One is surely going to be a head turner.

Simple One is generating excitement as India's first premium affordable electric vehicle (EV). Despite being loaded with advanced features, Simple One will be available at an affordable price point, making it an attractive option for consumers. Further details, including pricing, will be unveiled at the official launch event on May 23, 2023, with deliveries to follow. Production of Simple One has already begun at the company's manufacturing plant in Tamil Nadu. Prior to the launch, the scooter is undergoing rigorous testing, as evidenced by the latest spy shots.

Simple One boasts a sleek and futuristic design with sharp panelling that gives it a distinctive appearance. The front apron features a triangular-shaped casing housing the headlamp while lighting elements adorn the handlebar cowl. The scooter includes a compact windscreen, sporty rear-view mirrors, and a comfortable, upright riding stance with a flat seat. It also offers convenient storage options, with both front and under-seat compartments providing a generous capacity of 30 litres.

The Simple One electric scooter comes in a range of attractive colours, including Brazen Black, Namma Red, Azure Blue, and Grace White. Equipped with an intuitive smart dashboard, it offers features such as navigation, screen customization, and seamless smartphone integration for calls and music. The scooter also features a dedicated connectivity platform, enabling users to access remote commands, geo-fencing, remote locking, save and forward routes, OTA updates, and ride statistics. The Simple One mobile app will be available for both Android and iOS devices.

Powered by a robust 4.8 kWh battery pack known for its durability, safety, and efficiency, Simple One sets a new standard in battery technology. Its advanced battery management system effectively monitors and controls temperature, current, and voltage fluctuations. Notably, the Simple One electric scooter is the first to comply with the stringent battery safety standards set by the Automotive Industry Standards (AIS) 156 amendment 3.

Under the hood, Simple One features an 8.5 kW electric motor designed to tackle Indian road conditions, generating a peak torque of 72 Nm. With swift acceleration from 0 to 40 kmph in just 2.77 seconds and a top speed of 105 kmph, Simple One offers an impressive range of 236 km under ideal driving conditions. The scooter is equipped with 12-inch wheels and 90-90 tubeless tires, ensuring a comfortable and safe ride. With its patented braking system, Simple One provides optimal braking performance and unlocks the scooter's full potential.

Simple One is poised to disrupt the market with its focus on affordability. With an expected base-spec variant price point of under Rs 1 lakh, Simple One aligns with its rivals in terms of pricing.
